Elsa EDC Strikes Historic Workforce Corridor Deal with Port of Brownsville

In a landmark agreement, the Elsa Economic Development Corporation has formalized a workforce corridor partnership with the Greater Brownsville EDC, positioning Elsa as a named pipeline community for the $20B+ Port of Brownsville industrial corridor. The partnership connects Mid-Valley residents to advanced manufacturing, shipbuilding, and energy careers at one of the fastest-growing deepwater ports in the United States.

Edcouch-Elsa ISD and Valeo Partner to Launch Advanced Manufacturing Career Pathway

Edcouch-Elsa ISD students will now have direct access to career exposure, job shadowing, and internship opportunities with Valeo's $225M McAllen advanced manufacturing facility. The partnership, brokered by Elsa EDC, connects CTE welding and technology programs to one of the largest industrial employers in Hidalgo County.

First Career & Industry Expo Draws 200+ Residents, 12 Regional Employers to Elsa

Elsa EDC hosted its inaugural Career & Industry Expo, bringing employers from SpaceX's supplier network, Keppel AmFELS, Bechtel, and Valeo directly to the community. Over 200 residents attended, with 45 enrolling in TSTC welding and fabrication programs on-site.

Year 1 Report: 100+ Residents Engaged, 8 Partnerships Formalized, Pipeline Operational

Elsa EDC delivers its first annual outcomes report to the Board of Directors and City Council. Two career pathway pilots are operational. Ten job shadow placements have been completed. The Workforce Resource Guide has been published and distributed to over 500 households. Employer satisfaction stands at 85%. The 7:1 leverage ratio target has been exceeded.
